White Oak Chapter No. 104 Members take photos at Plaque

On Sunday, September 28, 2008, R. Ex. Comps Gary Humes, Paraag Suchak, V. Ex. Comp. Craig MacPhail, Ex. Comps Joe Marshall, Tom Carey and Comp. Allan Hale gathered at 7:00 am at the Oakville Town Hall, at the site of the 150th Anniversary Plaque laid by White Oak Chapter to commemorate 150 years of the Town of Oakville (2007) and 150 years of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Canada in the Province of Ontario.

Some were concerned about the early hour (that there would be no sunlight) and others worried about the possibility of the rain in the forecast, but lady luck was on our site as we had both enough light and only a minor drizzle for the photographs.

Year of Celebration Launched!

The Grand First Principal, M. Ex. Comp. George H. Gifford officially launched the year of celebrations at the Grand Chapter Convocation in St. Catharines on April 27, 2007 at 11 am.

Shortly thereafter, Comp. Terry McLean, the Chair of the 150th Celebration Committee took the Companions assembled on a trip down memory lane - about 150 years ago.

After a short introduction to how our Grand Chapter was formed 150 years ago, he spoke the words "That was then and this is now", and the doors flew open. The assembled Companions were then treated to several musical interludes from Pipe Band.

Companion Terry McLean then requested everyone assembled to start their celebrations, and send in submissions to this website for publicity as well as for a commemorative DVD being produced at the the conclusion of the celebrations at Grand Chapter 2008.

The Million Dollar Club

The Million Dollar Club is the major project of the Release-A-Miracle Committees drive to attain the magical Dollar figure, which will sustain the capital investment of the Fund at a level, that will ensure a continuous interest return to make the Fund totally self sufficient.

For a donation of One Hundred Dollars ($ 100.00) the Companion will receive a Certificate and a Lapel Pin which will enroll him in the Club. The donor will receive a Tax slip for the full amount which will be issued by Grand Chapter.

Letters and application Forms are being sent to all Chapters setting out the way in which a Companion can contribute. This is a unique way in which we can contribute to the Release-A-Miracle Fund and achieve that $1,000.000.00 (ONE MILLION DOLLARS) that will sustain the Medical Research Fund for another 150 years.

Please contact R.Ex.Comp. Desmond Washer, Chairman at email: desw@pathcom.com or R.Ex.Comp. Ted Jenkins jenkine@ripnet.com for any further information
