AD-HOC COMMITTEE ON COMPUTER RESOURCES

Companions:

This ad-hoc committee was set up in April 2008, "
mandated to look into Office Computer programs, availability of communication forms on the web site and complete the electronic mailing of the Chapter Summons".

Forms:

As mandated    we are striving to ensure all up to date forms are available via the web site (please contact your Grand Superintendent or your Scribe Ezra to get additional details).   Four amended forms were approved for publication and they will be mailed out to the Scribe Ezra's in our jurisdiction at our Grand Executive session in Kingston, on Saturday October 25, 2008.   Also approved was a new form for the Grand Superintendent's office which will also be made available.

Office Computer Programs:

Our committee is working with the Grand Lodge Computer Resource Committee in a joint approach to update our membership database.

Electronic Mailing of Chapter Summons:
bullet

Following a successful pilot in 2007 with the E-Mail summons program, our Grand Chapter has adopted the use of electronic mailing as a means to distribute the summons.   However, before Chapters can adopt this program, they have to attend an informative course held in association with the Grand Lodge and obtain dispensation from the Grand Chapter office.   Details of the program and a schedule of seminars is posted on the newly created 'E-Mail Summons' link on the Grand Chapter website.

In addition to these mandated areas, your Committee on Computer Resources is available to help address any questions, concerns, issues related to the use of technology or internet for the Chapters.   If you have any such questions or concerns, please contact us via the webmaster.

Sincerely and fraternally,
The ad-hoc committee on Computer Resources, comprising of
R. Ex. Comp. David Walker,
R. Ex. Comp.
Paraag N Suchak ,
V. Ex. Comp. Paul Pinel
R. Ex. Comp. Eric H Lakien (Chair)
